History of Charger RoboticsTeam 537 started when a group of energetic GE Medical Systems engineers presented the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) to the administration at Sussex-Hamilton High School. This meeting was held on October 10, 2000 at Sussex-Hamilton High School. The GE engineers were Jean-Baptiste Thibault, Mark Otto, Chris Paulik, and Joe Balint. The Hamilton High School staff that attended was principal Dave Furrer, science teacher John Alexander, and machine shop teacher Steve Campeau. Everyone was excited and we decided to make Team 537 a reality at Sussex-Hamilton.
The first official Team 537 meeting was held on October 17, 2000. In attendance were five GE engineers and nine students. We all decided that 2001 would be Team 537's first FRC experience.
